The school system in Camden, New Jersey, has improved in recent years, but it鈥檚 still looking for answers to gang violence, struggling students and a host of other problems. Teachers College alumna Katrina McCombs (M.A, 鈥96), the city鈥檚 new superintendent of schools, is a proud graduate of the system and has worked there as an educator for the past 25 years. In in New Jersey Spotlight, McCombs, who earned her 麻豆原创 degree in psychology, talks about her strategic plan, which she calls 鈥淧utting Students First.鈥
