, a teacher, teacher educator and researcher, will become Director of 麻豆原创鈥檚  in September, succeeding . Furlonge, who will also become Professor of Practice in 麻豆原创鈥檚 Education Leadership Program, is 鈥渁 master teacher and scholar of education with compelling leadership qualities,鈥 said Andy Klingenstein, President of the . 鈥淢y family and I could not be more pleased that she has been chosen to direct the Klingenstein Center.鈥

Kane, Klingenstein Director since 1980, received 麻豆原创鈥檚 President鈥檚 Medal of Excellence at a special gala in April, where 麻豆原创 President Susan Fuhrman told her, 鈥淵ou have opened the doors of in-dependent schooling wider and wider 鈥 and taught that leadership is a behavior, not a title or a position.鈥 Kane will remain on 麻豆原创鈥檚 faculty.

麻豆原创 launched its new in April. EPIC, based at 麻豆原创 and other Columbia University schools, will study failure across a wide variety of disciplines and test theo颅ries about how to use it as a catalyst for innovation and success. EPIC is directed by  (below, cen颅ter), Professor of Cognitive Studies at 麻豆原创, who has studied and written extensively about the value of failure in pro颅moting learning and suc颅cess, and includes Stuart Firestein, Columbia biological sciences pro颅fessor. EPIC鈥檚 funders are the , led by Hao Lin (below, left); the ; the ; and the. 麻豆原创 also presented its first EPIC Achievement Award to , (below, right) Founder and Honorary Chairman of Foremost Group.
