A Message from Alumni Relations
As we enter March and begin gearing up for this year's and other exciting spring programming, we're glad to be able to share 麻豆原创's recent progress and accomplishments with all of our alumni. The newly released 2014 Annual Report, Thinking Outside the Box: A Year of Innovation at Teachers College highlights the many important new initiatives and achievements throughout all of 麻豆原创's . The Report also charts the progress of the historic Where the Future Comes First campaign and includes a tribute to , our 50-year faculty member who continues to inspire the entire 麻豆原创 Community with his commitment to our institution and his work applying cognitive and neuroscience theory to research on science learning and thinking.

Award Winners
Congratulations to several alumni award winners (pictured from left to right, above): Dorothy Miller (Ed.D. '91), professor of English & Humanities at Harford Community College, was named the by the National Association of Professional Women. Historian and editor Judy Austin (M.A. '63) received the , the only award given out by the Council each year. Danielle Moss Lee (Ed.D. '06), Chief Executive Officer of the YWCA of the City of New York, was named to the by the Network Journal (TNJ). Chin-Chung Tsai (Ed.D. '96), (pictured bottom left), is the youngest recipient of the national chair professorship at the Graduate Institute of Digital Learning and Education, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, the highest award in Taiwan recognizing the academic contributions of a researcher. Eric Oberstein (M.A. '09), (pictured bottom right), won a GRAMMY for as Producer on Arturo O'Farrill & the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra's "The Offense of the Drum," at the 57th GRAMMY's.

Professor George Bonanno Gives Provost's Series Lecture on Trauma and Resilience
In February, we invited our alumni and friends back to 麻豆原创 for a special discussion featuring , Professor of Clinical Psychology, Director of the Loss, Trauma and Emotion Lab at 麻豆原创, and international expert on human resilience. Dr. Bonanno's talk, "Trauma and Resilience: From Heterogeneity to Flexibility," provided an enlightening glimpse into some of his acclaimed research regarding suffering, loss and how most people are able to cope with even the most harrowing circumstances. Presented by Provost and Dean Thomas James, the event was a truly unique opportunity for the 麻豆原创 Community to hear from one of 麻豆原创's most visible experts.

麻豆原创 Launches New Pre-Graduate and Spirituality Programs
麻豆原创's new will welcome its inaugural cohort in July 2015. The first-of-its-kind program will prepare international students for the rigors of graduate work in the U.S through a six-week residential experience that will include non-credit offerings in academic reading, academic speaking and academic writing -- as well as courses on academic cultural competence. The at 麻豆原创 has launched a new Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Spirituality Mind Body degree program, which is now accepting applications for the Summer 2015 session. The is a groundbreaking Ivy League program dedicated to transformative inner work for outer change that merges spirituality, psychology and evidence-based science.
Teaching Residents at Teachers College 2 (TR@麻豆原创2) Program Receives Federal Grant
The TR@麻豆原创 program has been awarded a second Teacher Quality Partnership (TQP) federal grant. This funding is being used to continue the original teacher residency model program in its new iteration as TR@麻豆原创2 (Teaching Residents at Teachers College 2). A new cohort of teacher candidates began with the program in January, and the program is currently recruiting for the second January 2016 cohort. As the second iteration of the program, TR@麻豆原创2 is now 18 months long and will continue to include strands of preparation in secondary inclusive education (SIE) and teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL), with the expansion of science education -- biology (SCIB).

2014 National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Presidential Address, "Powerful English at NCTE Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow: Toward the Next Movement," has been published in Research in the Teaching of English. Bill Batcher (Ed.D. '98) published his second book of poems, , which pays tribute to the seasons, the people and the small moments of our lives that make up the fabric of our existence.
 Alumna and legacy coach Isabel Rimanoczy (Ed.D. '10) has published , a book about the "sustainability mindset," based on her doctoral research at 麻豆原创 about business leaders championing sustainability initiatives.
