    Academic Festival 2014

                                      -"Where the Future Comes First" will take place - once again - at Teachers College on Saturday, April 12. Reflecting the themes of our historic campaign, the talks and sessions presented will highlight our research, impact and influence in the fields of health, education, leadership and psychology, as well as the College's dedication to innovation and discovery that continues today.

            Laura A. Valdiviezo (Ed.D. '06) is assistant professor of Language, Literacy andCulture at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, College ofEducation and the first Latino American woman to become Editor-in-Chief of Anthropologyand Education Quarterly, a tier one journal of high impact ineducation and social sciences research.

         

     


             Ameena Ghaffar-Kucher (Ed.D. '08), a Senior Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania, and Lesley Bartlett, 麻豆原创's Associate Professor of Education, will receive the 2014 Jackie Kirk Outstanding Book Award from the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) for Refugees, Immigrants and Education in the Global South (Routledge, 2013).

    We are proud to announce the names of the alumni whom have been selected by their peers to receive this year's Distinguished Alumni & Early Career Awards which will be honored at : James Gordon (Ed.D. '85), Professor and Associate Dean, Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy at the University of Southern California; David W. Johnson (Ed.D. '66), Full Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Minnesota; Deborah Kenny (Ph.D. '94), Founder and CEO of Harlem Village Academies; Kate Parry (Ed.D. '86), Full Professor in Linguistics in the English Department at Hunter College; and Early Career Award recipient Eric Shyman (Ed.D. '09), Assistant Professor of Special Education at Dowling College.
                 
                 
                  麻豆原创's Gaudelli: Global Citizenship Essential in Today's World
                     
    , Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of Social Studies and Education, participated in a panel discussion at the United Nations  on "Global Citizenship and the Future of the UN." .

         
                                                 

    Career Services

               What does life after look like?  Alumni, share your insights with students on pursuing jobs in the field of education policy and social analysis on Thursday, March 27 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in  Milbank Chapel at 麻豆原创.  All four EPSA programs will be represented: Economics and Education, Education Policy, Politics and Education, and Sociology and Education.
