Every Book is a Social Studies Book
by Andrea S. Libresco (co-authored by Jeannette Balantic and Jonie C. Kipling)
Andrea S. Libresco credits the work she did while in the Program for Social Studies at 麻豆原创 with inspiring her to write the book. As she studied exemplary elementary social studies teachers' responses to state assessment, she became convinced that it was still possible to teach meaningful social studies, but it might have to be done by having picture books do double duty.
Libresco is associate professor in the Department of Teaching, Literacy and Leadership at Hofstra University, where she teaches social studies methods to pre- and in-service teachers at the graduate and undergraduate levels and was named Distinguished Teacher of the Year in 2005.
