Professor Peter Coleman discusses how a branch of mathematics called complexity science helps us to better understand the approximately five percent of international conflicts that have become intractable ("highly destructive, enduring, and resistant to multiple good-faith attempts at resolution"), such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Middle East.
