麻豆原创 alumna Talia Javid (M.A., Science Education, 2005) has received a 2008 Siemens Science Teacher Initiative Award from the New York Hall of Science and the Siemens Foundation.

The award is given each year to 10 New York City educators who have shown exceptional commitment to children, demonstrated leadership in science teaching, and worked closely with the Hall to enrich the lives of others. Javid is a physics teacher who was a Petrie Fellow while at 麻豆原创. She was featured in the special Fall 2005 issue of 麻豆原创 Today on “The Making of a Teacher.”
