Alumna Honored as Educator of the Year
Dedria Lacy, who received her master's degree from 麻豆原创 in 2004, was one of 10 teachers to receive Education Update's Outstanding Educator of the Year award.
Lacy and other teachers, as well as 11 administrators, were feted at a ceremony at the Harvard Club of New York City in July. Lacy, who is a teacher at PS 335 in Brooklyn, received her master’s degree in education from 麻豆原创 in 2004.
During the ceremony, 麻豆原创 President Susan Fuhrman introduced Randi Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers, who was one of three recipients of the Distinguished Educator of the Year award. Education Update, which began publishing in 1995, was founded by alumna Pola Rosen, who serves on 麻豆原创’s Alumni Council.
