The African Studies Working Group at 麻豆原创 hosted a student-moderated panel discussion entitled: "The World Bank: Fix It or Nix It? Problematizing the World Bank as an International Educational Institution-Positioning the Academe." Panelists pictured above include: George Bond, William F. Russell Professor of Anthropology and Education; Phillip Jones, Visiting Professor from the University of Sydney; discussant Fida Adely of SIPA; and Frances Vavrus, Assistant Professor of Education. The event was co-sponsored by the President's Community and Diversity Fund, Current Issues in Comparative Education, the Department of International and Transcultural Studies, the Society for International Education, the President and Provost's Initiative at Columbia University, and the Economic and Political Development Program and the Institute for African Studies at SIPA.
