Schools Eye Job Readiness

The Institute on Education and Economy cites in their report, "School-to-Work: Making a Difference in Education," effective ways in which to assess the impact of focusing high school more on preparing for jobs than preparing for college for some students.

Do School-to-work programs reduce drop-out rates and increase the likelihood of college enrollment? Some researchers think so. However, research has not yet been able to show a relation between these programs and higher test scores.
