The College has added more than 35 new programs, courses and certificates since 2006 鈥� including many with online or blending online and classroom teaching 鈥� in an effort to respond to a changing world in which people鈥檚 learning needs require customized settings, time frames and content. 麻豆原创 has also has built a suite of new smart classrooms on campus.
During 2016-17, 麻豆原创 launched a new online version of its Bilingual Extension certificate program in Speech-Language Pathology, and an online version of its Master of Arts program in Developmental Disabilities.
Among the courses added over the past decade are:
- The Cowin Financial Literacy Program. This year, a $500,000 gift from 麻豆原创 Trustee Joyce Cowin enabled teachers across the nation to undergo this unique professional development experience online. The course provides classroom teachers, pre-service teachers and other educators with classroom-ready instructional resources, strategies and support to teach financial concepts (savings, investing, budgeting, financial planning, credit, risk, consumption and diversification) to high school students. Mrs. Cowin has given more than $4 million to Teachers College.
- The first Bilingual/Bicultural Education online certificate for New York State teachers, open to non-麻豆原创 students. The program provides a foundation for understanding and working with bilingual learners in diverse educational settings, specializing in education that privileges language minority student populations in the U.S. and in the world.
- The Teachers College Teaching Artists Certificate (麻豆原创TAC), a professional development program for artists who teach music, theater, language art and fine art in public schools. Conducted in partnership with Young Audiences of New York (YANY), the program is funded by Leslie Nelson, Vice Chair of 麻豆原创鈥檚 Board of Trustees; her brothers Andrew Morse and Douglas Morse, YANY鈥檚 former board chair and current trustee; and YANY Board Chair Kim Greenberg, a 麻豆原创 alumna parent.
- The 麻豆原创 College Advisement Program (CAP). Dedicated counselors, educators and other stakeholders who are specifically trained in college advisement can close the gap in knowledge around higher education and demystify the college admissions process. 麻豆原创 CAP-online seeks to provide targeted curriculum on college advising, improve professional competence and increase college opportunities for underserved high school students.
- 鈥�Teaching the Sustainable Development Goals,鈥� a three-week online professional development for teachers of all subjects using the United Nations鈥� Sustainable Development Goals, 2015-2030. Taken together, the 17 comprehensive goals are full of real-world connections, including policy and civic dimensions for social studies, educational access with respect to teaching language and literacy, climate change and species extinction for science educators, and statistical measurements for mathematics teaching.
Debra A. Noumair Endowed Fellowship Fund
Created to celebrate the five-year anniversary of the Executive Master's Program in Change Leadership (XMA) Program, this fellowship honors the Founder and Director, Debra A. Noumair, Ph.D.

Endowed Teaching as Applied Behavior Analysis Scholarship Fund
This fund supports students in the Comprehensive Application of Behavior Analysis to Schooling program, developed and led by Professor R. Douglas Greer, that provides teachers with the tools to monitor the progress of children and provide each child with differentiated instruction.

Professor Jack & Edee Mezirow Endowed Scholarship
The late Emeritus Professor Jack Mezirow's paradigm-changing theory of transformative learning refocused adult education from skills training to profound changes in identity. Mezirow promoted a reassessment of assumptions and expectations which frame our thinking, feeling and acting. This scholarship is for students in the Adult Learning and Leadership/Adult Education Guided Intensive Study (AEGIS) programs.

The A.M. Gentile Scholarship Fund in Motor Learning
The late Antoinette Gentile, Professor Emerita of Movement Sciences, was a leader in movement sciences and neuromotor research who championed the revolutionary concept of "neuroplasticity." This fund provides a partial scholarship for students in the Motor Learning Program.

George Clement Bond Scholarship
A pioneering Africanist who studied the making of black elites, education anthropologist George Clement Bond helped refute a Eurocentric view of colonized peoples. Roger A. Myers Scholarship
Roger A. Myers was a 30-year 麻豆原创 faculty member who championed the development of the field of counseling psychology and played a major role in shaping its standards for professional education.
